Lubrication for the convenient alternative
Automatic transmissions of various types sometimes place completely different demands on the oil than manual and axle transmissions - the most obvious being their lower viscosity. Within the group of automatic transmissions, however, there are at least as many differences in terms of requirements - after all, the range extends from torque converter automatic transmissions with multi-plate clutches to continuously variable transmissions with belt drives.
