At the same time, the porous surface structure, which has been eaten away by corrosion, is infiltrated and the rust is removed down to the base metal. The result is a bright steel surface that can be painted, coated, tinned or galvanized without any problems. Mechanical rust removal is no longer necessary!

Corrosion protection layer

The dark gray layer (phosphating) that WAGNER Rostfix leaves on iron and steel effectively protects metal surfaces against rust. The protective effect can be permanently maintained by an appropriate final protective treatment with coating plastic, paint, resin, varnish, tar, wax, tin or zinc.

Improved rust protection of the metal

Treatment with Rostfix significantly improves the rust protection of the metal and the adhesion of the final protective treatment. For non-ferrous metal surfaces such as aluminum or zinc sheet, WAGNER Rostfix is suitable for pre-priming (etching) bare surfaces. It is therefore also worth treating new, rust-free metals with Rostfix.

Area of application

All metal surfaces affected by rust can be easily derusted with WAGNER Rostfix.

Dosage & application

Concentrate! Do not use pure - dilute with water in a ratio of at least 1:1 or 1:2 before applying to the surfaces to be treated.
WAGNER Rostfix also works reliably at a mixing ratio of up to 1:60 (1 part rust converter, 60 parts water) with the appropriate exposure time.

WAGNER Rostfix does not attack aluminum or non-ferrous metals. Even soft or hard solder is not affected in any way. WAGNER Rostfix is neutral to paint and rubber when used as directed. However, at high concentrations, in long-term baths or when used alone, some paints and rubber types can be dissolved if drops or splashes are not neutralized with water and washed off in good time.
WAGNER Rostfix works reliably at temperatures as low as 0° Celsius and does not need to be heated. WAGNER Rostfix is easy to use, leaves no stains and can be disposed of diluted via the sewage system.
